Job Summary

The 2nd Shift Operator is responsible for the production and assembly of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. This role involves performing detailed assembly, operating machinery and equipment, and ensuring adherence to documented procedures and quality standards. Work may take place in a controlled cleanroom environment and includes handling delicate materials and components using precision tools and instruments. This position is non-exempt, and hours worked over 40 per week are paid at time and a half.

Job Responsibilities




  • Assemble medical devices and related components according to established procedures and quality requirements.



  • Operate various manufacturing equipment, including those used for electronic assembly, casting, coating, mechanical assembly, and packaging.



  • Use microscopes, hand tools, syringes, razor blades, soldering equipment, adhesives, and other precision instruments as required.



  • Perform visual inspections and precision measurements on parts, subassemblies, and finished products.



  • Conduct tests on devices using computerized or manual testing equipment.



  • Repair and correct components or assemblies under microscope as necessary.



  • Clean tools, equipment, and work areas in compliance with documented procedures.



  • Safely dispose of hazardous waste materials in designated disposal areas.



  • Maintain complete and accurate production documentation.



  • Follow safety protocols, cleanroom standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).



  • Prioritize and manage different tasks based on production needs and importance.



  • Exercise sound judgment and make quality-related decisions with minimal supervision.




Job Requirements




  • High school diploma or equivalent required.



  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing or assembly experience, preferably in a medical device or regulated production environment.



  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.



  • Ability to follow standardized work instructions and maintain documentation accuracy.



  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision assembly work.



  • Knowledge of basic safety and cleanliness protocols, including proper handling of tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.



  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.




Education




  • High school diploma or equivalent required.




Work Experience




  • At least 2 years of related manufacturing or assembly experience required.




Additional Job Details




  • Employment Type: Non-exempt position.



  • Compensation: Overtime (hours over 40 per week) paid at time and a half.



  • Shift: 2nd Shift (specific hours to be assigned).



  • Work Environment: May include a controlled cleanroom environment; adherence to gowning and contamination control protocols required.
