What will you do as a Lab Technician at Sealed Air?

The Lab Technician is responsible for performing testing and analysis of materials and products to support production. Testing and analysis include both routine quality control (QC) tests and non-routine special tests aimed at troubleshooting production issues and qualifying materials, equipment, and test methods.

Why do we need you?


  • Perform laboratory testing and analysis of raw materials and finished products, including physical and chemical property testing to determine product quality, performance, and root cause analysis for production issues.



  • Record and report test results in a timely and accurate manner.



  • Collaborate regularly with other departments (Operations, Production Control, Purchasing, Engineering, Technical) by providing suggestions for testing and interpretation of test results.



  • Maintain laboratory equipment in both the Main Lab and satellite labs across the site, including calibration, verification, operation, and programming.



  • Write and review work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).



  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis for compounds.



  • Perform ATP testing of water to comply with regulatory requirements.



  • Work with internal and external technical support teams to troubleshoot equipment issues.



  • Move, connect, and disconnect gas cylinders safely.



  • Monitor laboratory supply levels and promptly notify the Lab Manager when restocking is required.



  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • Flexibility to work weekends, outside normal weekday hours, and occasional overtime as required.



What do you need to succeed?


  • Proficient with computers and technical equipment, including unfamiliar devices.



  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint), Outlook, SharePoint, record keeping, technical writing, and data interpretation.



  • Familiarity with systems such as FUSION, SAP, and Minitab.



  • Experience with laboratory testing techniques (e.g., microscopy, spectroscopy, rheology).



  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, including ability to perform mathematical calculations across units of measurement, work with fractions and percentages, and conduct/interpret basic statistical analyses.



  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.



  • Strong observational and time management skills, with a willingness to learn.



  • Extremely detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accuracy under pressure.



  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.



  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to shift between tasks and responsibilities in response to changing priorities and business needs.
