| Systems Simulation Engineer Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a System Simulation Engineer at our Superior Township, MI facility. The Team: The Powertrain Matching Team is a part of the Vehicle Architecture and Powertrain Matching (VA&M) Department which focuses on the definition of critical powertrain requirements along with advanced concept development for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis products.WHAT YOU WILL DO 
    
 Develop, document, and manage tools used to analyze core vehicle functional objectives, including fuel economy, longitudinal performance, launch on grade capability, towing performance, and track performance.Build 1D simulation models using industry-standard system simulation software to focus on powertrain systems and vehicle efficiency modeling for various vehicle types, including ICE, BEV, Hybrid, and EREV.Define and implement proper version control and documentation for tool development, including model development, assumptions, and validation procedures.Explore and apply AI/ML techniques to optimize system architecture, and pre/post processing.Develop and refine user interfaces for efficiency design tools.Understand and follow the department's business model, strategic direction, purpose, and missionWork with the Manager and Senior Manager to participate in the department's resource planning, goal setting, and technology roadmap creationFoster inner-team collaboration and knowledge sharing through transparent communicationProduce and deliver executive-level presentations on key project milestones/achievements and provide actionable insights and recommendations for product improvementsTravel up to 15% (both domestically and internationally) as required
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE 
    
 Basic Qualifications
 
      
 Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field7+ years of automotive engineering experience focused on powertrain developmentSignificant experience in automotive powertrain core model development and refinement including version controlExperience using software, such as GT-Suite, with vehicle propulsion system architecture simulation.Demonstrated foundational knowledge of electrified propulsion system components, including electric motors, power conversion systems, high voltage batteries, engines, transmissions, charging electronics, and control systemsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to clearly explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical collaboratorsValid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
 
Preferred Qualifications
 
 
      
 Master's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field.3+ years of delivering complex engineering projects related to electrified propulsion system-level design, simulation, calibration, and validationExperience with continuous model improvement and optimization using AI and HPC resources.Experience with other simulation software, such as MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape
