Application Window Open date: August 26, 2025 Next review date: Wednesday, Sep 10, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Feb 26, 2027 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Junior Specialist - Costello lab Under direct supervision, the candidate will perform standard wet-lab cell and molecular analysis on glioma cells and tissues. The candidate will also perform computational analysis of ATAC-seq and RNA-seq data. Duties will include being trained in and assisting with tumor cell biology activities such as human cell culturing, adding transfection reagents to cell cultures, and centrifuging cells to generate a cell pellet for DNA, RNA and protein isolation. Incumbent will use a laboratory notebook and record the activities, and results such as the quantification of the cell viability, cell number and amount of material isolated from the cell pellet. Duties will also include being trained in and assisting with tumor molecular biology activities such as polymerase chain reaction, reverse-transcription quantitative PCR, western blotting. Incumbent will be trained in and assist with pipetting molecular reagents into PCR and Eppendorf reaction tubes, heating and cooling as per laboratory protocols and recording all activities and results in a laboratory notebook. Incumbent will also have strong experience in computational analysis of ATAC-seq and RNA-seq data and use that experience to conduct computational analyses and interpret the results in the context of current literature.
