Summary: Fab Assemblers assist in the sub-assembly by preparing and putting parts together that are put on the trucks. Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily: DA parts, removal of the sharp edges of parts/material Drill and prepare the rub rails Prep catwalks, steps, grab handles, etc. Prep ladder brackets, pike pole, and attic ladder Prep hose bed floor dividers Prep rear cab overlays Prep start storage assemblies Prep SCBA brackets Meet production goals Maintain a clean and safe work area Initiate process improvements when able Work in close proximity to customer, as needed Operate any equipment or tools needed to perform the job Assist other team members and departments as needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent experience Ability to use basic hand and power tools Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements Ability to lift 75 pounds Ability to work in a team environment Ability to maintain attendance within company guidelines Ability to retain and apply instructions Positive attitude Work overtime on short notice Embrace change Basic computer skills Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Must be detailed orientated Ability to read and understand truck specification documents Ability to communicate and understand in English Ability to work within safety guidelines Must be self-motivated Must be able to work with little to no supervision after two weeks SCHEDULE: Hours depend on business and department needs. All positions are subject to overtime as needed. Overtime can be scheduled by adding additional days to the scheduled days for the week or by extending the hours worked.
