Summary

Under the direction of the Director and/or Credit Risk Review Manager, the Credit Risk Review Officer II (CRO II) participates in the assessments of all the Bank's lending units to assess overall asset quality, risk and compliance with established underwriting policies, procedures, limits, and concentrations. The CRO II develops the appropriate skill level to effectively and independently assess the quality, quantity, direction, and overall credit risk in the Seacoast Business Solutions Commercial and Marine & Aviation, Small Business Administration, C&I and Owner Occupied Commercial Real Estate portfolio segments through planned reviews and other portfolio monitoring reporting as a subject matter expert. Provide objective assessments of credit risk management effectiveness, underwriting and credit analysis, portfolio monitoring, and problem loan management. Incumbent may contribute to synthesize multiple pieces of information with review findings to perform overall analysis of the area reviewed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Complete loan review assignments within the time considered to be reasonable for the lending relationship.
  • Perform reviews on all lending relationships assigned by supervisor.
  • Review analysis encompasses loan documentation, financial capacity, repayment ability, adherence to policies and procedures, and adherence to regulations.
  • Discuss review results with Director/Credit Risk Review Manager/Examiner-In-Charge.
  • Assess risk exposure on reviewed lending relationships by assigning an appropriate loan grade.
  • Make recommendations for reducing the bank's risk position.
  • Identifies the existence of loss exposure on reviewed lending relationships.
  • Prepares all written correspondence and reports regarding reviews.
  • Presents loan review reports to Loan Officers and management.
  • Assist the Credit Risk Review Manager in completing monthly and quarterly reports that are presented to Directors' Loan Committee.


Qualification and Educational Requirements:



  • College degree, (BA/BS) Accounting/Finance/Economics/Business or equivalent
  • Formal Credit Training Desired
  • 5+ years banking experience, preferably concentrated in commercial credit risk functions, commercial loan review, regulatory environment or commercial lending and underwriting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional understanding/competency in regulatory matters and compliance.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Commercial Loan policies/procedures.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of select commercial business segments.
  • Intermediate working knowledge/ industry expertise of regulatory matters.
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with peers and with senior management across the Bank.
  • Ability to strategically generate well supported conclusions based on trend analysis.
  • Understanding of the Bank's risk appetite and assessment of management's capabilities.
  • Thorough knowledge and operational skills in the use of personal computers and various software packages, including MS Office applications - Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
