GENERAL FUNCTION: Implements Company's policies and procedures through the Planning & Scheduling departments. Supports internal and external customer needs for information and reporting relating to performance, labor requirements and capacity planning.

TYPICAL DUTIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.

  • Develop processes for streamlining reporting requirements.
  • Support Program Offic with presentations and communications to Navy/USCG customers.
  • Identifies and evaluates alternative ways of meeting contract requirements.
  • Works with Operations leaders to plan and establishes production schedules.
  • Supports the Development Build Strategy and establishes resource requirements.
  • Monitors the collection and recording of daily production data and generates production reports.
  • Prepares long range production schedules, may schedule specific phases of production.
  • Reports to Director of Planning & Scheduling

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of engineering, material and production planning, inventory control.
  • Ability to maintain organized, accurate records; to conduct statistical research and forecast material requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the Company.
  • Familiar with concepts of shipbuilding including the creation and use of Build Strategies, Master Schedules, Product Work Breakdown Structures, Material Requirement Planning, Work Order creation and Budgeting development, EMVS.

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Bachelors' Degree in appropriate field of study plus minimum of 5 years' experience managing a Production Planning and Control Department preferred. Experience with commercial and government software is preferred. High School Diploma supplemented by course work in computer operations, business administration or a related area, and some production planning experience; or any combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
