Description and Requirements
Are you an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician looking for your next career move?
What if you could take the same HVAC and water treatment skills you use every day-and apply them to cutting-edge data center cooling technology?
At Lenovo, we've adapted proven commercial HVAC technology to support Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) for the world's most advanced data centers. We're looking for skilled HVAC professionals who want to step into the future of cooling.
As a Power & Cooling (PNC) Service Engineer on Lenovo's Hybrid Cloud Services team, you'll oversee water treatment and quality compliance for mission-critical secondary cooling water systems that keep high-performance servers running at peak efficiency. You'll bring your HVAC expertise to a new environment, learn the latest Water Cooling technologies, and become a key player in ensuring data centers run reliably, efficiently, and safely.
This is a North America-based role, part of Lenovo's Solutions & Services Group (SSG). Full training will be provided for the right candidate who has the drive to learn and grow in this exciting field. In this role, you will work at our customer site up to 50% of the time. Travel to the customer sites will be required.
What You'll Do
  • Apply your HVAC water treatment knowledge to monitor and manage chemical treatment of secondary cooling water systems-preventing scale, corrosion, and biological growth.
  • Conduct quarterly sampling, field testing, and lab coordination for water quality; interpret results and take corrective action to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain proper water chemistry to ensure system longevity, energy efficiency, and environmental safety.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities, including filter replacements, vendor oversight, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with Lenovo labs, vendors, and customer teams to resolve water quality issues and optimize performance.
  • Help develop global procedures, train Lenovo teams, and support clients with water system best practices.
What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with HVAC systems, water treatment, or cooling systems in commercial/industrial environments.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time to customer sites. This is overnight travel within the United States.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, testing, and maintaining water chemistry for cooling systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
  • Comfort managing vendors and working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Enthusiasm to learn Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) and grow into a specialized role in data center cooling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in Environmental Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or Water Resources.
  • Certifications such as Certified Water Technologist, OSHA 30, or similar.
  • Familiarity with building management systems and water monitoring technologies.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
Why Join Lenovo?
  • Transition your HVAC experience into the high-demand world of data center cooling.
  • Receive full training on Lenovo DLC technologies and methodologies.
  • Work on mission-critical systems that support the future of cloud, AI, and high-performance computing.
  • Join a collaborative global team with growth opportunities in professional services.
***This is a fully remote role. This role will also require 50% travel to customer locations*** The base salary range budgeted for this position is $74,000 - $87,000. Individuals may also be considered for bonuses and/or commissions. Lenovo's various benefits can be found at www.lenovobenefits.com. In compliance with Colorado's EPEWA, the expected Application Deadline for this position is 9/30/2025- this applies to both internal and external candidates
