Description

Your Role:

Performs a wide range of responsible technical duties in a service desk environment. Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users. Installs/sets up, operates, maintains, and monitors a variety of information systems including network, peripherals, operating systems, and user applications. Assists customers with questions and requests for service on computer systems, hardware and software, and telecommunication issues for the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Perform workstation troubleshooting; installs, upgrades, and maintains computer workstation hardware, peripherals and related software.
  • Receive, review and/or log requests from end users regarding computer hardware, software, or peripheral equipment problems, and tracks service tickets; coordinate with end users and/or managers to ensure that customer needs are met.
  • Provide first response on security cases submitted by users doing an initial assessment before transmitting to IT security. Follow-up for timely resolution with the security group. Propose security information & news to be sent to avoid dangerous user behavior, security tips. Support security audits driven by Corporate IT.
  • Perform research to resolve higher level problems.
  • Participate in projects related to PC deployment, software and hardware procurement, or hardware consolidation.
  • Monitor vendor support web sites for new support information and maintenance patches and applies or recommends fixes as needed.
  • Oversee deployment and maintenance of mobile devices.
  • Assist in the preparation of specifications for the purchase of computers and endpoint devices.
  • Modify user profiles and password re-sets; set up user permissions and documents all changes and revisions.
  • Research hardware and software failures and configuration issues to discover fixes, identifies trends in technical failures, and recommends long-term solutions.
  • Load specified software packages such as operating systems and general office products and provides proactive workstation maintenance (spyware removal / virus scans).
  • Oversee and maintain an inventory of all computer systems, peripherals, software, and mobile devices.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other Miltenyi Biotec employees, and vendors using principles of good customer service.
  • Assist with telecom system maintenance duties, voicemail administration, and changes to telecom systems.
  • Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of LAN, wireless network, and network printers.
  • Monitor back up workstations and servers.
  • Provide one-on-one training pertaining to the use of applications, equipment, and systems, including audio/video and telecommunication equipment and systems, desktop and laptop computers, and general office software.
  • Provide project and/or service ticket updates, status, and completion information to manager.


Requirements:



  • High School Diploma or GED, plus 1-2 years of experience and/or training in a similar position including remote support of off-site users; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and MS Office software. * Must possess excellent problem solving and diagnostic skills.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have ability to handle more than one task at a time and must work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to travel occasionally.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a temperature controlled, handicap-accessible facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Due to the travel requirements, this position may be exposed to natural elements of nature. Generally, this job is performed in an office environment.

The hiring range for this position is expected to fall between $46,100-$54,200/year, reflecting the range candidates can reasonably expect to be considered for at time of offer, based on factors such as experience, internal equity, and qualifications.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of considerations, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above range represents the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.

In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions may also be eligible for additional compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
