Software Engineer - Test Automation Specialist

Overview

SCCI is seeking a Software Engineerto join our team in support of a highly functioning rapid acquisition program. In this position you will design, develop, and deliver tools to automate portions of the test and evaluation process. This includes developmental testing as well as system level testing to ensure the products are well characterized and understood before delivery to the warfighter. The test tools must be developed with input from the test and evaluation personnel and in collaboration with software developers to ensure they meet requirements and improve aspects of the testing process.This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:



  • Develop test automation tools for new and existing weapon control systems using Python or other similar programming languages
  • Develop and support GUIs using Python or web development tools such as Next.js, Electron, and Java
  • Collaborate with the test team to identify requirements and opportunities for new tools
  • Support test and evaluation of BMS products to gain knowledge of the test process
  • Utilize software development best practices and BMS development processes
  • Identify and incorporate the latest hardware, technology, and techniques in this rapidly evolving environment
  • Collaborate with the BMS team through regularly scheduled BMS meetings


Essential Skills and Experience:



  • Must be a U.S. Citizenand be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a technical field such asComputer Science orComputer Engineering
  • Two (2) years of full-time professional experience in Software Engineering supporting system development or testing automation
  • Two (2) years of software development experience in at least one of the following languages: C++, C#, Java, Python
  • Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, and military personnel
  • Ability to understand and convey complex technical concepts in a logical and straightforward manner
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and take initiative



Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and networking is desired
