The Technician, Visual Components is responsible for the operation and maintenance of massive optics fabrication equipment for production of optical components. Tasks and Responsibilities

Minimum Education and Experience
Highschool Diploma or GED plus 2 years experience in a comparable manufacturing position or in a directly related trade i.e. machinist, welder, electrician, equipment mechanic, tele-communication installer, etc. Or minimum 2 years experience as an Entry Level Optics Manufacturing Technician plus must satisfactorily demonstrate mastery of job specific skills to his/her supervisor. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS: Valid Drivers License. Forklift Certification. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Hands on mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills Hands on welding, machining, electrical, carpentry. EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Basic PC and Office equipment. Electronic or mechanical test equipment including calipers, micrometers, digital meters and o-scopes. Welding, machining, wood working etc. Able to operate a forklift. Ability to wear protective gear (PPE) including respirator. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications. Able to read and interpret documents. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Able to apply concepts of basic algebra. Physical Demands and Work Environment

The employee must have the respiratory capacity to wear a mask respirator for 4 or more hours a day. The employee must be able to use both hands to hold and manipulate 7-15 pound power tools.
