The Weitz Company is accepting applications for a Marketing & Proposal Manager to be located out of our Denver, CO office.

The Marketing & Proposal Manager serves as a subject matter expert for marketing processes and systems, while closely collaborating with assigned business unit(s) to create effective proposals, marketing materials, communications and presentations. This role provides oversight and strategy to marketing materials while developing and implementing processes. The Marketing & Proposal Manager typically reports to the Senior Marketing & Proposal Manager or Business Development Manager.

What You'll Do Every Day:



  • Develop and implement marketing processes and systems (i.e. established templates, company customer relationship management (CRM) system); train and share best practices and enhancements with the marketing team; serve as a subject matter expert
  • Identify and implement areas to influence marketing strategy; ensure internal and external marketing design and messaging aligns with brand standards and strategic direction of the company
  • Manage marketing campaigns and initiatives alongside business development, marketing and project team members; propose and manage marketing budget for campaigns, as requested
  • Partner with marketing and business development teams to manage proposal preparation and support project pursuit organization; provide market intelligence as applicable
  • Lead proposal development meetings to discuss status and opportunities for improvement
  • Write, design and research proposals and presentations; provide narratives, materials, graphics and charts for technical and price proposals for request for proposals (RFP) process; write new content and narratives, as needed, with review from subject matter experts
  • Serve as a brand standards champion by providing support to jobsite branding and marketing materials; provide direction on brand effectiveness and growth areas to assigned business unit
  • Ensure CRM system is current; identify system or process improvements; produce CRM reports to enhance business development efforts or identify content gaps
  • Manage local public relations and communications activity (i.e. craft blog posts, press releases, media responses); obtain support and approval from business development and/or marketing management; act as media contact as appropriate
  • Manage and support annual planning for internal and external events and industry conferences (i.e. client and subcontractor parties, award banquets, association panels); attend as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned



What We're Looking For:



  • Education:

    • A marketing or business-related bachelor's degree is required.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.




  • Experience:

    • A minimum of seven (7) years of marketing, public relations, communications or proposal management experience is required
    • Previous architecture, construction management or engineering experience is preferred.
    • LEAN principles experience is desirable.



  • Technology:

    • Proficiency in basic computer software programs such as Adobe Suite (InDesign), Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Employee should have experience managing a CRM system and the ability to learn other specific software.


  • Skills:

    • High Level of initiative, independent judgment, business writing and organizational skills.
    • Strong attention to detail, verbal and written communication and proofreading abilities with the flexibility to coordinate multiple projects.
