State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, a Fortune 50 company, is offering a Paralegal opportunity within the Corporate Law Department, located at State Farm's corporate headquarters in Bloomington, Illinois. This position is classified as a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement calls for hours in the office and virtually. Everyone in a hybrid role is required to spend the majority of time in the office. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs. Hours for the position are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:15pm.

The paralegal selected will support both our Privacy and Information Security and Corporate Counseling & Transactions units. The primary focus of this position is to conduct legal research, analysis and writing; procurement and contract reviews; and project work. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing
• Review and analyze non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to ensure compliance and protect company interests
• Review website terms and conditions for accuracy and legal compliance
• Perform contract reviews to assess risk and compliance with company standards
• Evaluate procurement policy exceptions
• Assist with updates to information retention policies to maintain regulatory compliance
• Review information security incidents and contribute to incident response procedures
• Review promotion and sweepstakes materials for legal compliance and risk management

• Review consents to assign various types of agreements

• Prior experience as a paralegal, paralegal degree/certificate/certification, or relevant coursework or legal studies degree is required
• Experience and understanding of working in a professional, legal environment
• Familiarity with an insurance environment is desired
• Understanding of corporate procurement policies, information security and privacy regulations is desired
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Strong business acumen and judgment

• Technical proficiency with database usage, electronic document management, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office products

Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!

• Potential starting salary range: $53,901.25 - $80,000.00
• Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
• High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
• Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary
