What will you do as an Accounting Manager?

In this role, you will:

  • Perform daily accounting activities such as preparing and booking journal entries to the general ledger and monitoring the receivables and payables balances.
  • Supervise the Billing Specialist and Staff Accountant. Provide regular supervision, mentorship and development for staff.
  • Prepare and provide analysis of monthly financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, budget vs actual, and prior year vs. actual.
  • Complete reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts monthly as well as reconciliations between QuickBooks and other financial data systems.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for external parties including, but not limited to, State, Federal, United Way, and other regulatory bodies.

What are the requirements?

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; Master's degree or MBA preferred
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or auditing required, CPA is a plus!
  • 2+ years' experience supervising staff preferred
  • Prior experience in a non-profit or social service environment is a plus
  • Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook); prior QuickBooks experience is a plus.
