Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
UNCW is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to support the Seahawk Links program, which fosters leadership development and facilitates a smooth transition for first-year students. This temporary role involves coordinating leadership training, student programming, and assessment initiatives to enhance the student experience and support the mission of the university.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate weekly meetings in spring and fall with 4-5 Links Leadership Council members
- Design and implement a comprehensive training program for Seahawk Links, including retreats, weekly sessions, and intensive workshops
- Develop and execute first-year student programming throughout the academic year
- Manage event logistics including scheduling, vendor coordination, marketing, recordkeeping, and equipment maintenance
- Maintain program website and collaborate with university personnel
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers for student programming
- Create and administer surveys to assess program impact on student transition and leadership development

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
- Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience
- All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience |
- Master's degree in higher education or college student personnel; or equivalent combination of training and experience
- All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions
- Experience in the field of orientation, transition, and retention
- Experience coordinating educational and social programs in a higher education setting
- Experience advising or supervising student groups or organizations in a higher education setting
- Experience working with first-year student
