Scaffold Builder Superintendent Job Description
Job Summary
The Scaffold Builder Superintendent is the authorized and competent person responsible for overseeing the erection and dismantling of scaffolds. This individual leads the scaffold crew, ensuring all work is performed safely and that all team members understand the task at hand. The superintendent is authorized to inspect and sign off on scaffolds and is responsible for daily JSAs, toolbox meetings, and organizing work tasks. They act as the main point of communication with the Person in Charge (P.I.C.) at the job site, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed before beginning work. The supervisor is also responsible for submitting time tickets and addressing any job site concerns via email to office personnel.
Education
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience & Skills
* Demonstrated leadership in scaffolding operations. * Experience conducting safety meetings and coordinating with project management. * Strong communication and organizational skills. * Familiarity with OSHA scaffolding standards and inspection procedures. * Proficiency in reading and completing JSAs, daily reports, and time ticket submissions. * Ability to inspect scaffolds and verify 100% completion. * Experience in scaffold erection and hands-on assistance when necessary.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Lead daily JSAs and toolbox meetings. * Ensure all crew members understand their work tasks and safety responsibilities. * Communicate effectively with the P.I.C. and sign off on all required paperwork before starting tasks. * Oversee scaffold erection, modification, and dismantling. * Inspect scaffolding for safety compliance and completeness. * Submit JSAs, daily reports, and time tickets to the office at the end of each shift. * Organize and communicate next-day work tasks to ensure efficiency. * Ensure the crew completes tasks safely and in a timely manner. * Clarify client-specific expectations and promote operational efficiency during assignments.
