Summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking a Senior Flight Test Engineer (Info Systems & Cyber Security, Senior Associate) to support a Federal Government client at our Patuxent River, MD location.

This position currently requires a remote schedule with travel to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station and other sites as required, and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-performance software applications to support the customer's needs for flight test, data analytics and visualization.
  • Work directly with clients to develop test plans, lead the execution of test events and deliver final result briefings and reports. Test event types may include, but are not limited to, Developmental and Operational Tests, CI/CD.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to integrate algorithms and machine learning models into production systems.
  • Lead and contribute to the full software development lifecycle - including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Analyze user requirements, procedures and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations.

Travel

15% to other sites, as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have 10 years' experience in the following areas:
    • Naval Aviation Testing
    • Management of a high performing team, overseeing both staffing and project objectives
    • Data Analytics/Data Science
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and optimizing data pipelines
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Github)
  • Extensive knowledge of unmanned naval aircraft
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with supporting NAWCAD customer
  • United States Naval Test Pilot School Graduate
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g Matlab/Simulink)
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies

Education

Master's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field.

For this position, the projected compensation range is $114,000 - $160,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.
