Job Summary

The Director, Undergraduate Admission & Recruitment, provides management, leadership, support, and coordination for UT Dallas' Office of Admissions. Primary responsibilities include development and implementation of undergraduate admission and recruiting initiatives and prospective student support. This position will communicate regularly with leaders across campus to ensure the department's efforts successfully support university-wide application, admission, and enrollment goals.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related progressive experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master's degree
  • Ten years of related progressive work experience
  • Supervisory experience

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the University's undergraduate recruitment strategy.
  • Support the coordination of efforts between the Welcome Center, Visitor Center, and Undergraduate Recruiting Teams to facilitate a welcoming, responsive, and supportive environment for prospective students.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for escalated complaints and difficult customer service situations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with departments across campus in order to support undergraduate recruiting efforts.
  • Collaborate with other leaders in the Offices of Admissions and Enrollment Operations to identify existing challenges and partner with other teams to work toward solutions.
  • Supervise, support, and mentor Assistant Directors of Admissions for DFW and Regional Undergraduate Recruitment Teams; lead regular team meetings and provide critical updates to all undergraduate recruiting staff.
  • Promote and provide a high level of customer service to all prospective undergraduate students and their families.
  • Work with Strategic Enrollment Partnerships & Initiatives Team to support pathway and partnership efforts.
  • Attend interdepartmental meetings related to undergraduate admissions and prospective student recruitment; cooperate and coordinate with other teams within the Offices of Admissions and Enrollment Operations to achieve shared goals.
  • Participate in all assigned trainings, meeting, and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Understanding of conflict de-escalation and resolution techniques to handle difficult and sensitive student and customer service situations
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at one time
  • Detail-oriented and accurate with the ability to analyze and interpret data and apply strong reasoning skills to make informed decisions and to identify potential issues and possible solutions proactively
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, schedule, direct, and monitor tasks, activities, and projects in order to complete assignments timely and efficiently


Remote Work Notice
The Enrollment Management Unit provides in-person services and support to our prospective and current student populations. Therefore, this is a campus-based position, located in the Student Services Building.
