Overview

The candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Manager of Non-Metallic Materials and Robotics Engineering. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task. The candidate shall exhibit a strong work ethic, and ability to work in a team setting. Previous experience as an Administrative Aide is strongly preferred. The candidate will be required to interface with different EB employees and personnel outside the company. The Non-Metallic Materials and Robotics Engineering administrative aide will be responsible for all administrative functions for D343 Non-Metallic Materials and Robotics Engineering, which includes but is not limited to the following:

    Word processing and EB Correspondence
  • Distribute Documentation
  • Update and maintain department web page information
  • Assign and control file numbers
  • Cornerstone Administration for Employees
  • RADCON coordination for drills
  • Ordering and maintaining supplies (i.e. Staples, Oracle, P-Card, Material Requisitions)
  • Complete required accounting paperwork for material orders
  • Process visit requests for department employees
  • Maintain department records
  • Payroll and associated activities
  • Mail pickup and delivery
  • Maintain department organization charts
  • Facilities coordinator (i.e. new hires, moves, trouble ticket requests)
  • Maintain department commitment report database, send out weekly reports
  • Service Award Coordination
  • IT software and hardware and Communication requests
  • Employee severance and retirement preparation
  • Maintain logs (Oracle Reqs, MRPII Orders, Facilities Requests, IT Requests, etc.)
  • Print out weekly safety briefs for Laboratory Technicians
  • Complete Monthly metrics for the Department


Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of Administrative, Reception, or Clerical experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Previous defense industry experience
  • Previous experience at Electric Boat


Skills

  • Working knowledge with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
  • Ability to routinely multitask

  • Communication - Written and Verbal
