Part of Omnicom's Precision Marketing Group, RAPP is comprised of 2,000+ creatives, technologists, strategists, and data and marketing scientists across 15+ global markets. YOUR ROLE: RAPP is seeking aCreative Engineer who thrives at the intersection of design and execution. In this role, you will focus on building scalable component libraries within connected design systems, using atomic design theory and principles as your guide. You will collaborate with designers, art directors, and creative teams to ensure consistent, efficient, and innovative execution of design systems across projects. Mastery of tools like Figma and a passion for systems thinking are essential for success in this role. KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Comprehension: Understand design systems, their components, and their purpose. Interpret briefs and apply atomic design principles to execute scalable solutions.
- Ideation: Partner with creative teams to identify opportunities for improvement and scalability within design systems.
- Craft & Execution: Build and maintain scalable, modular component libraries in design tools like Figma, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Iteration & Elevation: Continuously refine and improve design systems and components based on feedback, team insights, and emerging best practices.
- Directing & Managing: Manage workflows effectively, ensuring deliverables are on time, on brand, and aligned with project goals.
- Storytelling & Selling: Clearly articulate the value and utility of design systems to team members and stakeholders, demonstrating their impact on creative execution.
- Business Contribution: Deliver solutions that improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability for both the agency and its clients.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain scalable component libraries using tools like Figma, ensuring alignment with design system standards and atomic design principles.
- Work collaboratively with designers, art directors, and creative leads to ensure systems are executed consistently across projects and campaigns.
- Translate design concepts into reusable components that can function across diverse platforms and channels.
- Ensure that design systems are user-friendly, accessible, and adaptable to evolving client needs.
- Partner with creative teams to identify gaps or inefficiencies within existing design systems and propose solutions to improve scalability and usability.
- Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to design systems and component-based design.
- Provide guidance and support to creative teams on how to effectively use and implement design systems in their work.
- Contribute to quality assurance by testing components for usability, accuracy, and consistency.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience: 2-5 years in a creative engineering or design systems role, with a portfolio showcasing component-based design work.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Mastery of Figma is required, with expertise in building and managing scalable component libraries.
- Familiarity with prototyping tools like Adobe XD or Sketch is a plus.
- Knowledge of atomic design principles and their application in design systems.
- Curiosity about and interest in experimenting with AI tools and emerging design technologies.
- Systems Thinking: Ability to break down complex design systems into modular, reusable components.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work with cross-functional creative teams and contribute to a culture of innovation and inclusivity.
- Communication: Ability to articulate the value and functionality of design systems to both technical and creative stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Thrive under tight deadlines, manage competing priorities, and embrace new challenges with enthusiasm.

This range is specific to NYC and multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience and training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
