Schedule:





  • 2nd Shift - Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM



  • Occasional weekend work as needed based on business needs

Summary:

The Blend Operator is responsible for preparing raw materials and ingredients for the cooking production process, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and documentation standards. This role also assists in the cooking process as needed while maintaining food safety and sanitation requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Comply with and follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues as well as prevent unsafe conditions. Embrace a proactive approach to upholding safety standards to enhance the health and wellbeing of the entire team.
  • Comply with GMP standards as set forth by company, and actively contribute to maintaining food safety, product legality and quality. Stay alert for any potential risks or signs of product safety concerns and promptly report them to your immediate supervisor.
  • Operate a cheese grinder to convert block cheese into a ground form
  • Open and handle various size packages of cheese and other ingredients
  • Accurately measure ingredients using Scale Fusion system and other relevant devices
  • Read and ensure proper batch record documentation
  • Scan ingredient barcodes to ensure accurate batch records
  • Label batched ingredients with correct information
  • Enter information in SAP software program
  • Assist in cooking process as needed
  • Use manual or electric pallet jack to move pallets of ingredients and raw materials
  • Perform basic math calculations for batching processes
  • Complete housekeeping checks and paperwork daily
  • Maintain complete shift pass-down communication and information with co-workers
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
  • Safely uses knives and other cutting tools to open or access ingredients and raw materials
  • Assist in other areas of production as directed by leadership, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
  • Dispose of trash and cardboard as needed
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment as needed
  • Clean and sanitize machines, equipment, and tooling by following SSOP's (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures). Hand wash as needed
  • Use steam hoses and various chemicals in accordance with SSOP's
  • Reassemble machinery and equipment for production use
  • Perform COP (Clean Out of Place) processes and procedures on equipment and tooling following SSOP's (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Assist in CIP (Clean In Place) processes and procedures as needed following SSOP's (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Perform all other duties as assigned


Education and/or Experience



  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment preferred



Skills and Competencies



  • Ability to read, comprehend, and accurately follow documents such as ingredient information and batch records
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic proficiency in math for measuring and recording ingredients
  • Ability to use basic computer software systems (E21) to input and retrieve data
  • Ability to apply practical problem-solving skills and follow detailed instructions in both written and verbal formats
  • Ability to use sound judgement to handle routine issues within a standardized environment
  • Proactively identify safety and GMP opportunities
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds on a semi-frequent basis
