Summary:

Reports to the President/Chief Medical Officer of Newport Hospital and is part of the Senior Leadership team at Newport Hospital. Directly oversees Facilities, Environment and Safety Management, Security, Transport, Housekeeping and EMS strategy. Will participate in day-to-day operational management of Newport Hospital and collaborate with Senior Leadership to determine overall strategy for Newport Hospital. Will work closely with operational leaders within Brown University Health. Develops and maintains programs and processes that ensure optimum quality of service delivery, consistent with fiscally sound practices and in consideration of the mission and values of the hospital and Brown University Health system.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for development of the strategic operating plan, operating goals and objectives for areas of responsibility in accordance with established hospital and system strategic objectives.

Ensures that key operational areas including Facilities, Security, Transport and Housekeeping are aligned with the clinical needs and strategic goals of the organization.

Responsible for Joint Commission Environment of Care compliance.

Works closely with Quality, Risk and Regulatory to maintain Environment of Care within the organization.

Ensure regular preventive maintenance and inspection to both hospitals ' infrastructure and major operating equipment, facilities and utility systems to avoid loss of service.

Process all facility project requests to develop facilities project priorities.

Will be part of Senior Leadership Team helping to craft strategy and working closely with peers and other leaders within Brown University Health.

Leads key operational initiatives to optimize workflows and ensure optimum utilization of resources.

Ensure all state, federal and other governing agency standards, codes and regulations are adhered to, and that all appropriate licenses, permits and certificates are obtained and maintains open communications with local and state enforcement officials.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in related field required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of seven years progressively responsible management experience in facility management sector of a healthcare entity.

Experience should demonstrate highly effective management and leadership skills and the ability to conceptualize, plan, facilitate and manage organization restructures to optimize effective operations in a fiscally responsible manner.

Extensive healthcare experience and working in an integrated healthcare system.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Supervises up to 50 FTEs.
