Responsibilities
Performs the scheduling and staffing function for Nursing Services for the hospital. Ensures the facility is properly staffed at all times. Creates a monthly and daily schedule for Nursing Services staff, including Nurses and Mental Health Techs. Performs other clerical duties for the Director of Nursing. May be used as a Mental Health Tech on a unit is needed. The Mental Health Tech provides direct care to children, adolescents and adult patients with psychiatric disorders to ensure the safety and well being of the patients. MHTs have the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient's safety on the unit. Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred. 2. Experience: Prefer experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a Mental Health Tech working with children, adolescents and/or adults. 3. License/Certification: Not required. 4. Skills: Have the ability to deal with diverse and stressful situations in a calm manner. Must be detailed orientated with a high degree of accuracy. Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must have good organizational and computer technical skills. Verification of absence of criminal record on local, state and federal levels. 5. Physical Requirements: Extensive walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs. Must be able to lift over fifty (50 lbs.) pounds. 6. Other: Performs other duties as may be assigned by the DON |
