Job Overview:

The Pharmacy Sterile Products Supervisor is a member of the pharmacy management team and is responsible for managing the sterile product compliance for the pharmacy department.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree, Doctorate degree, or Certified Pharmacy Technician in Pharmacy
• Minimum three years of hospital pharmacy experience
• Experience with sterile compounding
• Familiarity with all phases of hospital Pharmacy and a working knowledge of public health matters, as well as Federal and State laws regulating the professional and hospital practice of Pharmacy
• Understands the role of the Hospital Pharmacy Department within the hospital and its interrelationships with other departments and functions

Preferred:

• Two years of supervisory experience
• Advanced skills with Microsoft applications

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Current New Jersey State license as Registered Pharmacy staff member in good standing

• Full Time

Essential Functions:

• Plans efficient and effective utilization of resources
• Serves as a frontline resource for all Pharmacy employees
• Provides leadership and direction to Pharmacy team members
• Promotes positive relations and actively contributes to a positive work environment
• Assists in planning, monitoring, and maintaining budget in functional area of department
• Manages policies related to sterile compounding and other areas as designated in collaboration with leadership
• Actively participates with external departments at the local and system level to support optimizing patient care and best practice
• Oversees compliance with all regulatory requirements required for sterile compounding including, USP 797, USP 800, NJ Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission, DEA, FDA, CMS, NJDOH and other state/federal regulatory bodies
• Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement programs, pharmacy staff recruiting/retention/training, and staff development in relation to sterile compounding and hazardous medication handling
• Assists Director and Assistant Director in meeting the mission and vision to promote patient safety, formulary compliance, cost-effective practice, teamwork, productivity, and positive patient outcomes
• Completes duties associated with pharmacy management, including employee relations and providing cross coverage for other supervisor responsibilities as needed
• Other duties as assigned
