Summary The Water Resources Civil Engineer will be responsible for performing engineering analyses, design, and permitting activities related to water, recycled water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. The role requires 3-7 years of progressively responsible experience and involves technical project work, limited project management, and mentorship of junior staff. Work will include preparation of design documents, technical studies, and reports, as well as support for client coordination and permitting efforts. Responsibilities
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses using tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, and/or WaterCAD.
- Prepare technical studies, design reports, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), and other project documentation.
- Support design and permitting of new water, recycled water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
- Draft and review plans, profiles, and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam.
- Assist in project management, including scheduling, budget tracking, and subconsultant coordination.
- Collaborate with senior staff on proposals, technical reports, and presentations.
- Mentor interns and entry-level staff on drafting, design, and technical skills.
- Conduct occasional field visits for inspections, field checks, and data collection.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 3-7 years of professional water resources engineering experience.
- Experience with stormwater modeling software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, WaterCAD preferred).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam.
- Familiarity with FEMA LOMC submittals and permitting processes a plus.
- I.T. certification required; P.E. license in California preferred (or ability to obtain within 1-2 years)
