Located in the heart of the community of Washington Heights in Northern Manhattan is a 705-bed rehabilitation and nursing care facility with a mission to provide quality care through diverse programs and services designed to support health and independence to individuals needing short-stay or long term inpatient care.

Ensures that referral targets are maintained through various marketing techniques.

1. Visits local hospitals to identify potential residents.
2. Develops and maintains relationships with social workers and discharge planners at local hospitals.
3. Reviews PRI and communicates with appropriate discipline to ensure that the needs of the potential resident can be met by the facility

4. Provide information regarding the facilities and services provided to inquiries made by potential clients and their families in person and via the telephone.
5. Educate the community about the services provided by MJHS.
6. Collaborates to develop the Public Relations and Marketing materials and activities

Directs the admissions process.

1. All PRI's are reviewed and responded to in a timely and appropriate manner.
2. Candidates are prioritized for admission in keeping with the facility's financial and clinical objectives and capabilities.
3. All admissions meet the appropriate pay source criteria.
4. Maintains up to date knowledge of regulatory and reimbursement requirements pertaining to Long Term Care admissions.

Represent MJHS with outside agencies.

1. Attends community committees, councils, forums and religious institutions and area legislators.
2. Develop and deliver presentations to area agencies and organizations.

Manages performance of direct and indirect reports. Provides orientation, coaching, training and development. Takes corrective action when necessary.

Utilizes corporate services resources such as Human Resources, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Information Services, Marketing, etc., as appropriate.

Ensures appropriate staffing and resources to support department/agency services. Monitors productivity throughout the year and participates in annual budget preparation.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field
  • Three to five years' experience in communications, social work or community relations/outreach within a healthcare setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft word, excel, e-mail, internet navigation.
  • Experience in ADL preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral & written)
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to utilize time management in scheduling and carrying out assignments
  • Marketing, Managerial, Communication, Analytical and Organizational skills
  • Ability to secure confidential matters
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritizes effectively.
