  • Advise and train university departments on tax compliance, planning, and reporting, helping embed tax requirements into daily operations.

  • Develop and implement best practices by collaborating with teams to integrate tax compliance into workflows and business processes.

  • Monitor changes in tax laws and update internal policies and procedures accordingly.

  • Assess university activities for tax implications, including unrelated business income (UBI).

  • Conduct tax research, respond to notices, and maintain thorough documentation to support filings and tax positions.

What We're Looking For:
  • 10+ years of tax experience in higher education or public accounting, focused on nonprofits.

  • Master's degree in accounting or taxation.

  • Certifications: CPA license required.

  • Strong expertise in nonprofit tax compliance, return preparation, and operationalizing compliance.

  • Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and documentation.

  • Skilled in researching complex tax issues and supporting tax positions clearly.

  • Effective communicator who works well across teams and leadership levels, while also thriving independently.

  • Experienced in translating tax law into practical compliance programs, training, and operational best practices.

  • Approaches challenges with perspective and a focus on continuous improvement and practical solutions.

We believe real innovation comes from inclusion - where different experiences, perspectives and talents are celebrated. So if you're wondering whether SNHU is right for you, take the leap and apply. You might be just the person we're looking for.
