Rate of Pay: $25.00-26.50 per hour RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external clients
- Have a complete understanding and knowledge of hotel's services and facilities
- Assist in qualifying leads, researching space, entering bookings in Opera Sales and Event Management, and responding to client(s) either personally or by directing to the appropriate salesperson(s)
- Preparation of contracts and proposals
- Record and track leads for responses and due dates
- Preparation of deposit invoices and tracking of deposits received from clients
- Verify group commissions and prepare requests for commission payments
- Assist Sales Managers in conducting site inspections of the Hotel
- Maintain/order current printed sales and promotional collaterals and office supplies
- Coordinate with other departments within the hotel to ensure distribution of important information
- Prepare and disseminate routine daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Attend all sales meetings
- Obtain and record group histories
- Provide administrative duties as required by Sales Managers and Director of Group Sales
- Regular Sales Office phone coverage
- Assist with preparation and follow-up of sales trips including expense reporting
- Assist with duties of Sales Managers when they are absent from the office
- Maintain an organized work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma, Business School and/or Hotel School Diploma preferred
- Bachelor's or Associate's college degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Past hospitality or travel industry experience (internal or external) an asset
- Proven competency in the area of organization and communication skills
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Pleasant out-going personality/good interpersonal skills
- Excellent command of the English language
- Desire to pursue a career in Hospitality sales and marketing preferred
