Job Title: Technical Lead
Location: Orange, CT vicinity

Overview:
Seeking a Technical Lead to oversee on-site installations, technical operations, and serve as the link between fieldwork and front office activities.
This role is responsible for the professional setup, servicing, and support of rooftop and fixed wireless reception equipment used to deliver residential and commercial internet access. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable on a roof, in a server room, or working alongside customer service and operations teams.
The Technical Lead plays a vital cross-functional role, contributing to system deployments, handling customer installations and service issues, and supporting both back-end infrastructure and internal teams with technical expertise.
Salary: DOE $50,000 annually
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct ongoing maintenance and repairs to ensure system performance and reliability
  • Guide customers through basic device usage and troubleshoot connectivity issues on-site
  • Ensure installation practices adhere to safety standards and local property regulations
  • Install and configure wireless reception hardware at residential and commercial sites (e.g., rooftops, balconies, or other designated areas)
  • Evaluate and prepare installation sites for signal reception, safety compliance, and proper placement
  • Secure and align mounting equipment, run cabling, and integrate hardware with routers and customer premises equipment
  • Document all work completed, including site details, equipment used, and customer notes
  • Use proper safety gear and techniques when working at heights or with tools and electronics
  • Coordinate with property managers, building supervisors, or local stakeholders when necessary
  • Bridge communication between front office staff and field technicians to streamline customer support and installations
  • Train customer service staff on common troubleshooting practices to reduce escalations
  • Provide technical feasibility insights for new installations or business opportunities
  • Support project teams during infrastructure builds, upgrades, and network expansions
  • Translate technical issues into easy-to-understand updates for both customers and non-technical staff
  • Assist leadership with evaluating tools and platforms to improve operational efficiency in the field and office
  • Contribute to documentation, workflow development, and process improvements for both customer and internal support teams
  • Engage with high-priority customers or support tickets, offering hands-on technical guidance when needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals
  • Hands-on experience with fixed wireless, antenna, or satellite equipment installation
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
  • Professional communication and customer interaction skills
  • Comfortable working at height and using ladders and power tools safely
  • Working knowledge of residential and commercial building practices
  • Clean driving record and valid license required
  • Technical certifications in low-voltage, RF systems, or similar areas are a plus
Preferred Background:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or associate degree preferred)
  • 2+ years in a field technician, telecom installation, or satellite services role
  • Experience with both residential and multi-unit commercial deployments
  • Familiarity with digital job tracking or CRM tools is a plus
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
