Our client, a growing and innovative player in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a dynamic Controller to lead their financial operations and help shape the future of the business. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a visible leadership role, partner directly with senior executives, and influence key strategic decisions that will drive long-term growth and stability.

As Controller, you'll not only oversee the integrity of financial reporting and internal controls but also act as a trusted advisor, providing insights that fuel growth, efficiency, and profitability. You'll be instrumental in driving operational improvements, enhancing financial strategy, and empowering your team to deliver at the highest level.

Responsibilities:
* Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, ensuring they comply with GAAP and internal standards.
* Standardize accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, staying up-to-date on relevant legislation.
* Develop, implement, and maintain internal control systems to safeguard revenue collection, cost management, and the alignment of team and organizational budgets with actual expenditures.
* Oversee cash management, including optimizing cash flow, managing working capital, and making recommendations to the CFO regarding capital expenditures and financing strategies.
* Lead the tax filing process, working closely with external accountants and tax advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
* Provide financial analysis and business insights to support strategic decision-making, identifying trends, opportunities, and risks within the manufacturing and CPG sectors.
* Supervise and mentor the accounting team, ensuring that accounting functions are performed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with company objectives.
* Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve operational efficiency, and implement best practices to drive financial performance.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
* 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
* Strong background in manufacturing and/or CPG industries with expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
* In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
* Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
