Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training in teaching, childhood development, mentoring, recreation and/sports preferred Experience: Prior experience working with children in a structured setting Certifications/Licenses: In-service training will be required Skills/Abilities:
Supervisory Responsibility: Supervise volunteers as directed Physical Requirements: Include actively participating in activities with children, standing for long periods of time; walking, running, bending, reaching; lifting up to 25 lbs. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Travel: None Driving: Driving is required. This position requires a valid driver's license from the state in which the employee resides. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Working Conditions: The work environment for this position includes a classroom, gymnasium and outdoor environment. Hours include before and after school time. Some full day hours will be required based on the Olathe School District calendar.
