Instructional Designer

Summary:

Under the direction of the Senior Director, Commercial Learning and Development, the Instructional Designer is responsible for creating engaging and effective learning experiences for Sales and Customer Operations team members. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to develop instructional materials, designing training programs, and utilizing various instructional design methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of adult learning principles and a passion for enhancing employee performance through innovative learning solutions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with learning & development team to identify learning collateral needs

• Design, develop, and implement instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, job aids, and assessments

• Ensure strong linkage of training programs to overall business initiatives

• Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create engaging learning experiences tailored to diverse audiences

• Utilize multimedia and interactive elements to enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention

• Organize and maintain training materials and resources to ensure ease of access for team members

• Regularly review and update training content to reflect changes in products, services, solutions, processes, and industry standards

• Develop assessment tools and metrics to evaluate effectiveness of training programs and measure learning outcomes

• Gather feedback from participants and stakeholders to continuously improve training materials and delivery methods

• Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy and relevance

• Provide support to trainers and facilitators in delivering training programs, including training on new materials

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Requires specific training in fields such as education and training, instructional design, business administration, sales, marketing or similar vocations obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree Program and/or advanced degree from accredited institution

• Requires a minimum of 3 years in adult education training experience or equivalent work experience in sales and/or customer operations management; direct experience in needs assessment, curriculum design, testing, evaluation, quality control, performance metrics and reporting for adult education programs

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field

• 3+ years of experience in instructional design or a related role, preferably within a corporate learning environment

• Proficiency in e-learning development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and learning management systems

• Strong understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design principles, and assessment strategies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
