Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Equipment Parts Manager is responsible for managing inventory levels, coordinating the procurement and distribution of parts, and ensuring timely availability to support production and service operations. This role involves analyzing usage trends, forecasting demand, maintaining accurate inventory records, and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to optimize parts flow. The Equipment Parts Manager plays a key role in minimizing downtime, reducing excess inventory, and ensuring that the right parts are in the right place at the right time.

this position would have a home location at the Medina plant location and is expected to travel to our other plants regularly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage inventory of parts and supplies for asphalt plants; 19 plants 2 Terminals
  • Ensure optimal stock levels to support maintenance and operations to align with production schedules and business plan.
  • Forecast parts requirements based on production schedules, maintenance plans, and equipment needs. Identifying opportunities to optimize parts planning processes and improve inventory management.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to order parts, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery. Expediting orders when needed to address shortages and delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, orders, and deliveries using inventory management software. Implement strategies for replenishing inventory.
  • Collaborate with management and maintenance teams to identify and prioritize parts needs. Participate in operations meetings and maintenance meetings to resolve parts related challenges and improve processes.
  • Monitor parts usage trends to optimize inventory and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards related to parts storage and handling.
  • Be available when asphalt plants are running to address urgent parts need and ensure uninterrupted operations. Available to make deliveries in urgent situations.
  • Supervise and manage a warehouse, assigning tasks such as receiving, organizing and preparing parts for distribution, and ensuring a safe and efficient warehouse environment
  • Oversee and coordinate parts delivery, scheduling deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate parts delivery to plant sites and monitoring vehicle maintenance and safety compliance
  • Process and manage maintenance contracts/work orders. Approving and coding invoices to ensure accuracy
  • Analyze data to identify trends, demand patterns and opportunities for cost reduction. Work with the operations team for continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall efficiency and production.
  • Manage and track equipment/ Asset lists

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of parts and/or equipment maintenance experience
  • 2-5 years asphalt plant experience
  • 2-5 years mining experience preferred
  • Equipment knowledge preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of employees within the company
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Problem solver; can-do attitude
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb on and under equipment to locate part numbers.
  • Must be able to look up parts applications by manuals, catalogs or web-based systems.
  • Utilize company software (Viewpoint)
  • Must be able to work in a high pace and safe environment
