Fork Truck Driver / Material Handler

NSK Liberty is seeking a Fork Truck Driver/Material Handler with knowledge, skills, and abilities that will serve to carry out the company objectives and the material handler responsibilities.


The Position

We are looking for a careful and responsible forklift operator to move materials and load and unload trucks at our facility in Liberty, Indiana. You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. You must be a responsible individual with great experience in driving industrial vehicles. The goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.


Responsibilities
* Safety

- Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- Practices safe work habits and follows all safety procedures.
- Notifies Unit Coordinator of all unsafe conditions.
- Identifies forklift, forklift charger and dock lock issues and reports to maintenance.
- Wears required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure all tools are in safe working condition.


* Inventory

- Monitors finished goods inventory and updates the shortage report board as needed.
- Completes paperwork in conjunction to assigned task.
- Supports Team Members in order to maintain shipping and receiving standards.
- Notify production control of any shortages or issues pertaining to shipping/receiving of material.


* General

- Responsible for assisting other team members as required.
- Completes 6S activities as required by area.
- Ensures all documentation and computer entries for shipping and receiving are completed.
- Performs other tasks as required.


Experience / Requirements

Requirements:
- Ability to drive a sit-down forklift.
- Unload materials from incoming shipments, complete necessary paperwork, and store materials in assigned locations.
- Load materials for outgoing shipments and complete necessary paperwork.
- Must wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and hard-hat while driving fork truck.

Required:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Computer literacy.
- Able to work overtime on short notice as needed.

Preferred:
- At least one year experience driving a fork truck in a manufacturing environment.
