Job Description


Performance Contracting Group is currently seeking an experienced Safety Training Manager for our PCG Safety Department located in Lenexa, Kansas. This position will work with the Sr. Director, National Safety and other Managers of Safety to provide leadership and direction on all Safety Training matters for the organization, branches and departments, including measuring and evaluation of the effectiveness of safety training programs and recommends modifications as needed to achieve established safety goals and objectives. This position works closely with appropriate learning and operational departments in order to direct the application and administration of established corporate safety training programs throughout the company. Serve as consultant to Leadership to establish plans to improve competency and compliance with safety standards and best practices. Other responsibilities include:



  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design, develop, implement, and maintain the company Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Support operations teams to promote and gain buy-in for the Learning Management System.
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of company-required safety training means and methods.
  • Work to maintain and cultivate key vendor relationships to provide quality external resources.
  • Partner with strategic development and operations to maintain and promote a culture of safety, ensuring competency with safe work practices and supportive behaviors.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
  • Assist operations in identifying training gaps and connect with resources to close them.
  • Embody PCG's core values.
  • Support the continual improvement of the company's accident prevention plan.
  • Provide expertise, guidance, and trend analysis (leading and lagging indicators) for company safety training initiatives and programs.
  • Create and foster positive relationships with all branch operations, corporate departments, vendors, colleagues, and customers.
  • Take ownership of talent development for individuals within your sphere of influence.
  • Attend and participate in professional and committee meetings related to health and safety issues to better inform the continual improvement of Safety training programs.
  • Serve as a principal source of information on health and safety training issues.


Basic Requirements



  • 5 years Construction (or related) Safety training experience.
  • Strong management and leadership experience.
  • Ability to travel 60% of the time.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction operations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills. Must be able to effectively communicate complex information to employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Must have a great attitude and be team oriented.
  • Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.


Preferred Requirement:



  • Degree in Adult Learning Principles and/or a safety related field a plus.
  • BCSP (CHST, ASP, CSP) or other safety credentials a plus.
  • Experience working with members of executive leadership.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred .
