JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the study PIs and department research managers, the Research Assistant will support clinical research studies in nephrology. These projects involve a collaborative team-research nurses, physician investigators, biostatisticians, and student assistants-working together on participant enrollment, biospecimen collection, survey administration, return of results, data collection, and analysis. The Research Assistant will coordinate tasks across the study team, ensure timely completion in project management software, and assist with participant screening, data handling, reporting, and the preparation and dissemination of study findings. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with PIs and study team to define, document, and track project goals, objectives, requirements, and deliverables
  • Coordinate task assignments, monitor progress, and ensure completion across the study team.
  • Organize and lead weekly team meetings; prepare minutes; assign and track follow-up tasks.
  • Oversee reporting on data completeness, supporting project efficiency and quality.
  • Assist with preparation of sponsor reports.
  • Support the preparation of academic deliverables, including conference abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Conduct literature reviews to support study activities.
  • Support dissemination of results via newsletters, professional social media, and other channels.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn:
  • Project management software (Wrike)
  • EndNote reference management
  • Qualtrics survey platform
  • REDCap data collection platform
  • Graphic design tools (Canva, BioRender)
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of EPIC system to assist participant recruitment and some aspects fo data collection

This position is being funded by a grant from Mid-America Transplant; therefore continuation in this position is contingent upon funding availability
