Join our team as a Communications Coordinator and help us drive clear, consistent, engaging messaging that connects our people, strengthens our brand internally and externally, and amplifies Osborn Consulting as a uniquely great place to work in our industry and region. We've grown quickly over the last few years, and our vision is to maintain and build the unique brand voice and sense of comradery that differentiates us from our peer firms. We're looking for someone who not only enjoys the "what" but the "why" behind corporate communications and who brings a natural curiosity for finding new ways of developing and delivering messaging.

Here's what we imagine for this role: You demonstrate initiative by recognizing what needs attention and proactively taking the steps necessary to accomplish your tasks. You are proficient in self-organization and coordination with a wider team. You have a passion for effective and well-edited written communications but are quick to know and recommend when other mediums might be a better fit for a particular topic. You enjoy inspiring others in the office and connecting with people of all backgrounds. You are bold in sharing ideas and asking questions, balanced by a knack for diplomacy, a willingness to learn, and knowing when compromise is the best path forward.

The Communications Coordinator will be a key role in our Marketing Department, reporting to and working closely with the Internal Communications Manager. You will also coordinate with our Director of Marketing and Sales and other members of the marketing team to plan and execute external communication, such as social media posts, blog articles, newsletters, and press releases. The role also involves frequent collaboration and coordination with other administrative departments, such as People Operations/HR, Finance, and IT, as well as our leadership team.

About the Role

Internal communication duties include, but are not limited to:

  • People and Brand: Work in tandem with the larger Marketing team and People Operations/HR to help to ideate and create effective communications that enhance the employee experience. This includes messaging around internal events, trainings, onboarding, recognition efforts and other initiatives that support culture and team comradery.
  • Change Management: Aid in the development of communications plans and materials to support organizational changes, such as office openings, department shifts, and more.
  • All-Staff Meetings: Assist in the coordination, development, and promotion of our weekly and monthly all-staff meetings, which is one of our primary ways to message and share company news and updates.

External communication duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Social Media Strategy: Lead the development of the company's social media strategy, including identifying engaging content to post, working with technical and non-technical staff to generate ideas and content, and collaborating with the Marketing team to distribute tasks related to social media.
  • Public Relations: Develop press releases, newsletters, blog articles, and other forms of external communication to share firm news, promotions, project work, employee spotlights, and more.
  • Marketing Campaigns: Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop a strategy, timeline, and progress tracking for larger marketing campaigns, such as company anniversary celebrations, leadership changes, holiday client appreciation, or other topics that require a multi-faceted approach to communicating.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • An undergraduate degree, preferably in communications, marketing, or English (in lieu, additional work experience may be considered).
  • Three years of corporate communications experience.
  • Willingness to work in-office at least three days per week.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong writing, communication, and proofreading skills.
  • Graphic design knowhow and interest.
  • Close attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Passion and ability to develop successful internal and external communications content and projects.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize.
  • Judgement and ability to check that the tone and voice of communications match Osborn's culture and values in terms of style, quality, and design.

To thrive in this position, you may also have these qualifications:

  • Video and photo editing knowhow and interest.
  • Experience in the engineering, architecture, or landscape architecture industry.
  • Experience managing corporate social media account(s); most relevant platforms being LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram.
  • Experience in graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Canva.
  • Website editing experience, especially WordPress.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Enthusiasm for being a visible promotor of company culture and fun, both in-office and virtually.

Location

This is a hybrid role with three in-office days each week. You can choose to work all three days in our Bellevue office or split your time between our Bellevue and Seattle offices.
