Job Duties:
This position reports to the Director of Professional and Continuing Education (PCE) and supports adult noncredit Continuing Education by developing, implementing, and evaluating PCE Health and Human Services and nonprofit programs. Responsibilities include conducting market research, identifying new program opportunities, planning and coordination of training and professional development programs, and supporting strategic planning to expand adult learning programs.
The candidate will generate leads for new noncredit offerings, conduct needs assessments, and support instructors in course development using adult learning principles. This role involves collaboration with PCE staff, faculty, external consultants, and may include supervising student workers. The individual will coordinate and deliver programs, exercise sound judgment in office and program responsibilities, and act in the Director's absence when needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct market research and analyze enrollment data to develop and enhance noncredit programs, ensuring data-driven decisions align with adult learner and industry needs.
- Work with director, content experts, and committee members to plan and develop courses, training sessions, and events.
- Oversee the coordination of courses, trainings, and events.
- Oversee education and training programs while refining existing offerings.
- Maintain and oversee the CEU/CEH database for tracking, reporting, and audits.
- Collaborate with the PCE Director and Financial Specialist to review and generate instructor contracts.
- Recommend hiring of instructors and provide guidance on adult learning principles.
- Establish and uphold best practices for teaching adult learners.
- Organize webinars across multiple platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other platforms) and utilize the online learning system (Canvas) for training and courses.
- Conduct outreach and participate in meetings and committees with faculty, directors, and community partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to support adult continuing education.
- Supervise and train student workers and support staff as needed.
- Work with the marketing team to develop cohesive marketing strategies across print, web, and social media.
COMPUTER SUPPORT/DATABASE MANAGEMENT
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining a centralized database.
- Work collaboratively with UW-Parkside centralized marketing department to develop marketing collateral for new programs.
- Assist team with providing copy and editing brochures, fliers, newsletter, and advertisements for PCE.
- Use available virtual platforms for shared work and project management.
- Guide the development of online classes/courses using Canvas, or other University standard platforms.
- Prepare, post, and mail all correspondence to organizations, instructors or participants.
- Monitor voicemail and email. Exercise discretion and independent judgement in answering questions regarding programs via telephone, e-mail, written correspondence, or in person.
- Assist with the development of materials for instructors, and workshops.
- Compose correspondence, maintain files, and perform any related activities to support program development for PCE.
- Schedule meetings and take meeting notes as needed or required.
- Work with unit Director and Financial Specialist to develop event budgets.
- Analyze and evaluate financial performance of HHS and Nonprofit programs.

- Three years or greater experience in training or educational program development.
- Demonstrated success with performing needs assessments, or market analysis to plan and improve products or services.

- Master's degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience presenting in front of groups.
- Experience working within an educational institution.
- Demonstrated proficiency using registration software and project management software.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
- Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program
- May assist with the monitoring of outreach program budget spending
- Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement
- Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
