The Fleet Billing Specialist's role helps to ensure that GATX properly executes car releases. The Specialist acts as an expert within the Fleet Execution Department and works with the Network Loading Group to identify and ship cars to storage locations.



Responsibilities

    Track railcars being released due to lease expiration, scrap, destroyed, early termination and sold to ensure off lease billing information is entered accurately and timely.
  • Obtain and enter accurate and timely disposition into GATX's Service Event Management (SEM) system to ensure proper shipment of railcars to storage.
  • Facilitate billing adjustments for rental abatement, debits and credits.
  • Ensure proper documentation is provided and enter the adjustments accurately into SAP.
  • Monitor and clear edit reports of errors promptly and accurately.
  • Assist the new car process by reviewing invoices and purchase orders in SAP and creating the applicable receipt(s).
  • Assist the storage process by auditing invoices, providing disposition, updating and keeping current records.
  • Make freight bill dispute entries to US railroad websites.
  • Various ad-hoc projects including process improvements, car research and the testing and development of computer systems.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree desirable or equivalent work experience.
  • Excel, SAP, and Salesforce highly desirable.
  • Experience in the rail industry is a plus.
  • Minimal travel required.

This is a hybrid position that will require the employee to work in the office at least 3 days a week throughout the year.

Min

USD $59,600.00/Yr.


Max

USD $82,000.00/Yr.
This role may be eligible to participate in the Company's short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.
This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
