In this role you will identify, build & maintain partnerships with community-based organizations and other city organizations to help promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in public infrastructure projects. It will also assist with public engagement in support of projects, as well as assistance with related community planning work. Assist with managing team workload, aid in proposals, and build client relationships.
What You Will Be Doing:


  • Identify, build, and maintain community partnerships with community-based organizations, other city organizations and individuals.
  • Coordinate and develop strategies, goals, and objectives for equitable engagement efforts.
  • Serves as a liaison and point of contact between Bolton & Menk, community organizations, and members of the community; responds to a variety of public inquiries and constituent concerns; when needed, coordinates a knowledgeable spokesperson or information source to assist with outreach efforts.
  • Build partner networks and client outreach by maintaining regular contact with community and business leaders, including but not limited to community based organizations and associations.
  • Attend evening and weekend community meetings and events across communities.
  • Manage engagement efforts for proposals and community planning projects and facilitates coordination between project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate pursuits and develops strategies, goals, and objectives for internal and client based research efforts.
  • Represent BMI DEI initiatives at key events and conferences.
  • Mentors less-experienced community outreach staff.


What We Are Looking For:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, Communication, Public Relations, Community Organizing, Marketing, or related field
  • At least ten (10) years of work in public relations or at least twelve (12) years of work in a related field preferred
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive or controversial subjects with tact, kindness and professionalism
  • Possess a valid driver's license as travel to various facilities and job sites will be required
