RT&T, a joint venture of InDyne, Inc. and Amentum Services, Inc. is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.

ARTSS supports Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) in research and development, engineering, maintenance, operation, support of facilities, systems, and equipment in order to meet the engineering development and operational testing and fleet training missions for some of the world's premier systems. Our work with the U.S. Navy keeps the warfighter safe by testing systems before they are used in combat, and we are hiring personnel to support this important mission.

Background Information:

This full-time position serves as the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Safety Manager for the Atlantic Targets Marine Operations Division (ATMO) at NAS Pax River in Patuxent River, Maryland. The ATMO Division provides land/sea/aerial target services to DoD and commercial test and evaluation (T&E) customers. The Safety Manager will take the lead role in managing the OSH safety programs for the Division and will serve as the Crew Resource Manager (CRM).

Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for the following safety programs to include training, documentation, inspection, compliance, and other required tasks where applicable:
  • Electro Magnetic (EM) Hazards, Energized Equipment Safety, Laser Hazards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Crane Safety, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Crew Resource Manager (CRM)
  • Leverage ATMO Branch Head and Team Leads to track/enforce training completions and deficiencies
  • Review and update safety programs as necessary, including developing and providing ATMO specific safety training when needed
  • Help develop/maintain ATMO Emergency Action Plans (EAPs)
  • Facilitate Base Safety Inspections to include preparing beforehand and helping to mitigate findings/deficiencies
  • Act as a Liaison with Base Mission Safety Team
  • Provide regular status updates and issues to management as needed
  • Manage the HAZMAT/HAZCOM program, maintain a high level of proficiency with the program and procedures

Required Education, Experience, & Certifications/Licenses:



  • A minimum of 5 years performing the same or similar functions as stated above
  • Must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Power Point is required
  • Must be a self-starter and team-oriented
  • Must have a valid driver's license and successfully pass a drug screening test


Clearance Requirements:



  • Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
  • Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance


Work Conditions:

Most work performed in enclosed buildings at a desk or in data processing environments. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Special vision abilities to perform this job are close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. Some travel and/or overtime may be required.
