This position is funded for 12 months; continuation past 12 months will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.

POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Greater Allegheny is seeking a full-time TRIO SSS Director located in the Center for Academic and Career Excellence (ACE).The Director will be responsible for the overall planning, directing, evaluation and administration of the Student Support Services project at the Penn State Greater Allegheny campus.

The Student Success Manager directs, designs, and evaluates student success programs and services; collaborates with faculty and staff throughout the University to identify academic support needs; develops best practices and procedures to determine and deliver support services; champions student success initiatives including study groups and learning communities; supervises teams of academic support staff including delegating work assignments, hiring, training, and performance evaluation.

  • Collaborate with faculty, academic advisers, and counselors to create assessment programs to determine support services; develop processes and procedures to identify, evaluate, and deliver support services aimed at increasing student success
  • Design academic support programs including guided study groups, learning communities, and tutoring services; integrate pedagogical expertise and evidence-based learning strategies; collaborate with faculty and staff to identify needs; establish goals and assessment metrics
  • Serve as a liaison and expert to instructional teams and learning program staff; consult on student success best practices, strategies, and interventions
  • Develop and deliver workshops and training to support student success
  • Manage, forecast, plan, monitor, and approve program budgets
  • Foster partnerships with other departments and units to develop initiatives that improve the student academic experience across the University
  • Oversee and mentor a team of staff; direct workflows and assignments; manage hiring, performance evaluation, and training functions; and provide development opportunities
  • May teach courses on campus as requested

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Master's Degree 8+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

Prior TRIO experience is preferred. Applicants are asked to submit a cover letter and CV/resume.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $61,800.00 - $89,600.00.
