JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Director of National Distribution Sales plays a key role as the primary point of contact for assigned distributors and dealers. This position is responsible for all aspects of sales, training, and marketing with assigned accounts. Responsible for the management and development of sales and relationships with all departments, including Senior Leadership, Category Management, Purchasing, Logistics, Marketing, Sales, and E-Commerce.

  • Conduct regular business reviews and sales meetings with the appropriate personnel in conjunction with Cambro Zone Directors, Cambro Specialists, and Manufacturer's Reps to enhance sales meetings, further relationships, and closing sales opportunities.

  • Develop collaborative action plans to generate sales growth in deficient areas, with specific goals and completion dates.

  • Pursue and close new opportunities, including New Product placements, Competitive conversions and projects with all departments in conjunction with Cambro and Manufacturer's Rep teams.

  • Leverage all Distribution programs to increase stocking positions, gain specifications, and close on end-user opportunities. Manage and update customers on growth and financial benefits as noted:

    • Functional Rewards Program (quarterly)

    • Deviated Programs (as required)

    • Buying Group Programs (annually)

    • National Contracts (as required)

  • Ability to manage Local Marketing Funds, Buying Group Funds, and Specialty Programs within defined customers

  • Attend National Trade shows, manage distributor-specific trade shows and incentive trips with assigned distributors.

  • Must be able to present and negotiate with top management within the distribution channels.

  • In cooperation with Zone Directors, hold representatives accountable to specific initiatives. Assist in providing direction and identifying ongoing areas of improvement.

  • Must be able to manage and resolve conflicts within sales distribution and operator channels.

  • Ability to communicate and implement strategic directions to each manufacturer's representative firm or factory-direct sales team.

  • Have the skillset to promote the needs of distribution and outside sales groups within various internal departments at Cambro.

  • Effectively and consistently use technology as a tool to manage, such as Salesforce.com, EDI, the Internet, and SAP.

  • Proactively communicate sales issues and opportunities with all areas of Cambro (i.e., Quality, Marketing, Accounting, Planning, Customer Service, NPD and Logistics)

  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time with frequent overnight travel.

  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual and dependable, in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.

  • Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully.

  • Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.

  • Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.

  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.

  • Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to the immediate manager.

  • Able to understand and demonstrate the Cambro company culture, display the company's core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).

  • Understands department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieve these goals both individually and as a team.

  • Other duties as needed or required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.

  • Driving cars, trucks, forklifts and other equipment

  • Working around equipment and machinery

COMPENSATION RANGE:

$103,825 - $140,000 salary may vary based on experience
