Clinical Psychologist This position requires an active Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret/SCI. As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a U.S. Citizen. The Clinical Psychologist will provide direct psychological services in support of Army behavioral health initiatives, particularly within the Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Operating within military treatment facilities (MTFs) or related operational environments, the Clinical Psychologist will conduct evaluations, manage treatment plans, provide crisis intervention, and support service members and their families through individual and group therapy. This role supports mission readiness and psychological resilience across the military community. Clinical Psychologist Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct psychological evaluations using clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources.
- Diagnose psychological conditions using the DSM in accordance with APA standards.
- Deliver evidence-based psychological treatment for individuals and groups.
- Provide crisis intervention, critical incident stress debriefings, and trauma-focused counseling.
- Offer case management and treatment oversight for patients with complex psychological needs.
- Participate in deployment health assessments in compliance with Army and DHA policies.
- Provide consultation and training to command leadership and behavioral health staff.
- Deliver formal briefings and educational sessions to senior leadership across military echelons.
- Maintain compliance with professional licensing standards and ethical codes.
- Support operational readiness through timely and effective behavioral health interventions.
Clinical Psychologist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities Requested: Education:
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited institution.
- Completed APA-accredited psychology internship/residency.
Certifications & Licensure:
- Current, unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in a U.S. state or territory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross (must be maintained).
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years full-time post-licensure clinical treatment experience.
- At least 2 years of clinical psychology practice within the past 5 years.
- Clinical peer review experience within the last 2 years.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Behavioral interventions and trauma counseling
- Public speaking and formal presentations
- Case management and family systems therapy
- Supervision and oversight of clinical practices
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of APA ethics, psychological best practices, and clinical documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with military personnel, leadership, and families.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with military culture, deployments, and high-stress environments is highly desirable.
Abilities:
- Operates independently without the need for state-mandated supervision.
- Demonstrated professionalism, emotional maturity, and judgment in sensitive settings.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across interdisciplinary teams.
- Comfortable briefing high-level military leadership and facilitating training events.
