The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Assists PI and co-investigator in implementation of clinical research studies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, patient screening and recruitment; coordination of care of the research patient; protocol implementation; data collection from medical records, patient and other sources; completion of research-related documentation; collection, processing and management of lab specimens; other related administrative and clerical tasks, as assigned, and active participation in clinical trial activities.

Qualification

Required:

  • Medical Assistant Certification, or similar equivalent, required.
  • BLS Required. ECG and phlebotomy certification required.
  • Prior experience in healthcare institutions, physician office or hospital, in Transplant Services, is strongly preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc).

Essential Functions:

  • Archiving old/closed protocols records as necessary
  • Assist with pre-screening by reviewing medical records and comparing abstracted date to protocol (inclusion/exclusion criteria)
  • Assist with various Administrative Duties, as assigned, including: stocking office supplies, checking expiration dates of laboratory supplies, distributing mail, picking up checks, mailing packages, obtaining signatures, data entry, answering phones
  • Assists in educational activities for the hospital staff., patients, and families.
  • Collects data during study visits and as requested by the department.
  • Collects, manages and processes, ships laboratory specimens (blood, other) per requirements of trial protocols.
  • Communicates any changes in trial status or other issues to appropriate people
  • Completes case report forms, adverse event forms/additional documentation.
  • Extracts date from medical records (chart review) and collects information from patients accurately and efficiently.
  • Fax screening logs and any other required documents per schedule required by trial sponsors.
  • Periodic follow-up on long-term projects to the person who assigned the project or the main person with whom working on it.
  • Preparation and implementation of research studies.
  • Preparation of materials for the IRB, File IRB and other correspondence.
  • Prepares for, and coordinates, monitoring visits: preparation of medical records for the visit, preparing visitor logs for Security Dept and delivering to security staff, meeting and greeting monitors, accommodating their needs while in the facility.
  • Scheduling and confirming patient appointments.
  • Takes vital signs, EKG, and draw bloods of patients as needed.
