In this key role, you will be the pharmacist for our Geriatrics service line at UCLA Santa Monica. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Attending and participating in daily interdisciplinary patient care rounds
  • Performing pharmacy-driven medication dosing, pharmacokinetics, monitoring, and order verification
  • Performing daily geriatric stewardship activities and complete consults as requested
  • Acting as the geriatric subject matter expert for medication-related inquiries
  • Assisting in the optimization of order sets and clinical/operational protocols in your practice area
  • Serving as preceptor for pharmacy students and residents
  • Training pharmacists, nurses, and other care team members on geriatric pharmacotherapy
  • Participating in hospital and health-system committees as necessary

Schedule: varied shifts, depending on department needs, including weekends and holidays.

Hourly Salary Range: $85.87 - $100.58 (Union represented, step-based salary depending on years of experience)

Bargaining Unit: HX-UPTE

Qualifications

We're seeking a dedicated clinical professional with:

  • Pharm D. degree and current CA Pharmacy license
  • ASHP-accredited residency (preferred).
  • 2 yearsinpatientpharmacy experience
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform age specific and disease specific pharmacokinetic calculations.
  • Ability to compound intravenous admixtures and other sterile products.
  • Board certification in applicable area of pharmacy practice(preferred)
  • Experience with Geriatrics patient population (preferred)
