GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Test Department Supervisor to lead daily operations within the test team, ensuring efficient execution of testing procedures, adherence to quality standards, and the accuracy of technical documentation. This role requires strong leadership to manage workflow, enforce test protocols, and prioritize tasks to meet production and engineering goals. In addition to test operations, the supervisor will also oversee calibration asset management, ensuring all electronic test equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and compliant with industry standards to support ongoing test readiness. The Test Department Supervisor will also provide support to technicians in testing/troubleshooting CCAis, sub-assemblies and units.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Supervise and mentor test technicians and support personnel, ensuring clear expectations, training, and performance feedback.
  • Coordinate daily test activities, prioritize tasks, and manage resource allocation to meet production and engineering schedules.
  • Ensure accurate execution of test procedures and data collection in accordance with defined specifications and quality standards.
  • Review and approve FARs (Failure Analysis Reports), test procedures, and work instructions for completeness and compliance.
  • Oversee Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Requests (ECRs) affecting test operations, ensuring smooth implementation and communication across teams.
  • Identify inefficiencies in test operations and drive corrective actions to improve throughput, accuracy, and safety.
  • Ensures compliance with QMS procedures. Evaluates processes and practices for more efficient and effective methods and recommends changes as needed
  • Must be at assigned worksite during assigned hours 100% of time; less PTO, FML/STD/LTD


Calibration Oversight



  • Monitor calibration equipment used within the test department to ensure accuracy and readiness.
  • Track calibration due dates and coordinate services with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Maintain calibration certificates and logs to support audit readiness and internal traceability.
  • Ensure all calibration activities align with company policies and applicable industry standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:



  • This position is responsible for Test Technician(s) of the department.

Required Experience:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:



  • Strong understanding and knowledge of electronic/electromechanical test systems and troubleshooting practices
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
  • Ability to manage, coach, and lead technical personnel
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules
  • Effective verbal and written communication for cross-functional coordination.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, projects, and schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong and pronounced problem solving and analytical skills


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bacheloris degree in engineering, electronics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
  • 3+ years in a test, calibration, or technical supervision role.
  • Familiarity with test equipment, data acquisition systems, and failure analysis processes.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity is required.
  • Experience with MS Office and MRPs


WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Production environment
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (use of arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, manual dexterity for small parts assembly, frequent use)
  • Ability to lift iup to 30 pounds
  • 20/20 vision and color vision with or without corrective lenses
