WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

The Paralegal position is dedicated to gathering and organizing the evidence necessary to draft and file criminal complaints including preparing subpoenas and search warrants, as well as organizing prosecution case files and assisting with trials.

Specific work duties and responsibilities include:

  • Legal research and drafting briefs, motions, and other legal documents
  • Conducts trial preparation and appears at trial or other court proceedings to assist attorneys
  • Creating spreadsheets and exhibits and organizing complex financial information and transactions.
  • Gathers and utilizes information to make recommendations to the supervising attorney.

Prior to hiring, the successful candidate will be subject to aa background investigation conducted by the DA's Office.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements
1. Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, criminal justice, political science, business administration or a closely related field;
OR
2. A Paralegal Certificate from a recognized college or business institute, and four (4) years of work experience as a paralegal in a legal environment.
