Advises students regarding financial aid, with specific management of the Federal Work-study program.

Responsibilities
-
- Manage the Federal Work-Study program, including meeting with students, coordinating the associated paperwork, setting up work-study positions and facilitating discussion, coordination, and training of work-study employees and their supervisors.
- Review documents to determine completeness for eligibility towards financial aid, including helping students gather the many documents required for the verification process, etc. Evaluate unusual/mitigating circumstances using documentation or information provided by the student or other entities.
- Meet with students when they are having trouble completing the verification requirements needed to complete their financial aid application; verify financial data within student files in accordance with federal and institutional guidelines and submit any required corrections to the U.S. Department of Education via technical processing.
- Run daily Banner (University's Financial Aid Operating System) job submissions for the processing, awarding, and distribution of student financial aid.
- Advise students and parents concerning financial aid eligibility guidelines and programs; conduct financial aid information evening sessions with area high schools and other agencies as well as other outreach activities.
- Provide support for various operational and problem-solving functions such as working reports, certifying loan applications, and performing basic needs analysis.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with appropriate college departments.
- Use professional judgment and assist in reviewing all financial aid appeals.
- Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior in working with confidential information and maintainan elevated levelof confidentiality.
- Interpret, apply, and comply with federal, state, and institutional regulations governing student financial aid; maintain current working knowledge of guidelines/regulations related to financial aid.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- At least two years' related experience required; experience working in higher education financial aid and/or with a work-study program preferred.
- Knowledge of current regulations pertaining to the release of student information and records (FERPA) required.
- Proven ability to set work priorities, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work independent and in a team environment.
- Strong understanding and working ability in automated computer systems; University Banner experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability of entering data correctly and precisely, always with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service and accounting skills.
- Considerable skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students and campus personnel, with the ability to effectively convey and exchange information.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Full-time overtime-exempt staff position. Annual salary of $45,000-$47,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of October/November 2025.
