Apply to the PROCUREMENT SUPPLIER DIVERSITY MANAGER position now! Job Description Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) has an immediate opening for a Procurement/Supplier Diversity Manager. The primary functions of this position will be to direct, delegate, and supervise all activities of the procurement section in the acquisition of $25,000,000 critical goods and services as required for the efficient and effective operation of the organization. The candidate will oversee (a) SMECO's supplier diversity program consistent with corporate goals and State requirements and (b) the Cooperative's Small and Diverse Business Program to comply with federal Small Business Subcontracting Plan Administration mandates. Ensures required reporting is analyzed, produced and published as necessary. This position will track the Cooperative's program progress, implements program improvements and produces required reports as specified in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Cooperative and the Maryland Public Service Commission on supplier diversity. Testifies before the Commission at Supplier Diversity hearings and participates in the Maryland Utility Forum, made up of other utility representatives, to formulate testimony, exchange ideas and learn best practices to improve and advance achievement of the Cooperative's supplier diversity goals. Lastly, this position will manage all system upgrades to ensure SME development, participation in testing and process documentation as well as provide training as required. Ensure training other department members is conducted as required. This position requires a candidate who is goal-oriented and dependable. The candidate must also have strong data analytics along with decision-making and negotiation skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to details. Lastly, the candidate must possess strong leadership and team development capabilities. This position requires a four-year college degree or equivalent experience in procurement, supplier diversity contracting & reporting, and finance. The candidate must have a minimum of six years of progressive relevant or job-transferrable experience, with emphasis in procurement and supplier diversity matters. Work experience with an electric utility, with knowledge of utility material is highly desired. Must be proficient in all Microsoft office applications, data analytical gathering and formulation and have strong speaking, writing and organizational, skills. Supervisory experience is highly desired. The starting salary range for this position is $93,200 - $120,700. SMECO offers an excellent benefits program including a 401(k) 6% dollar for dollar match and an additional 3% non-elective company contribution.
